Why do Christians claim the Bible is The Word of God?
We must first answer this question with a question, if the Bible is not the Word of God what is it and who wrote it?
If the Bible is just the word of men then would those men be good men or would they be evil?
They could not be good men, because if they were good men they would not lie and conspire to deceive the whole human race. To claim falsely that a book is the Word of God when it is not must be the greatest evil any men could perpetrate on their fellow men. So good men could not write a lie as they would by default make themselves evil men.
So lets us look and see if evil men could have written the Bible, would an evil man write a book with the morality of the Bible, would an evil man write the Ten Commandments?
Would evil men teach us to love our enemies? Would evil men encourage us to be servants to one another to feed the poor pray for the sick? Surely evil men would not encourage us to do these things why would they?
So if the Bible is not written by good men and not written by evil men we come to one conclusion the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is what it claims to be the very Word of God inspired, infallible and preserved for all time.
The subject of the Bible proves the Bible is Gods Word, what is the subject of the Bible?
God Almighty revealed to mankind as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. When we look at the Bible we see from Genesis to Revelation that the book is about God and His dealings with men. As you read the Bible you will notice the sovereignty, majesty and Glory of God. You will meet God as creator you will see God as the judge as the lawgiver , as Father as Husband as Brother as Son. We will meet God as Holy Spirit the comforter the one who comes along side. The one who dwells in us, the one who gives us power over Sin. The one who redeems us by his own blood the one who died for our sin. The one who became Sin for us. Christ the lamb of God.
